 Where is Drifters Inn?
We are located on the Main Road into Hanmer Springs and are directly opposite the Hot Springs Thermal Pools.
How far is Hanmer Springs from Christchurch?
Hanmer is located in the Hurunui District and is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes driving distance from Christchurch city.
Do you have bed and breakfast style accommodation?
A complimentary buffet style continental breakfast is available each morning for each guest.
What is a lodge/motel style of accommodation?
This is an exciting concept in modern guest accommodation that offers guests the privacy and convenience of motel style rooms with an intimate open lodge style guest lounge, dining room and full kitchen for all guests to share. Shared laundry facilities are also on-site.
 Does each unit have a private, separate bathroom?
Yes, each unit has a full ensuite, electric blankets, wardrobe, colour TV, telephone and alarm clock.
Is Drifters Inn suitable accommodation for children?
Families are welcome at Drifters Inn. Some studio units have adjoining rooms that are suitable for family groups. Cots and high chairs are also available.
Are pets allowed?
No, unfortunately we are unable to accept pets.
Do you have non-smoking rooms?
All rooms and common areas are strictly non-smoking. Smoking is permitted outside only.
Will my room be serviced daily?
Your motel unit will be serviced daily. We are committed to being an environmentally friendly establishment, for this reason guest’s staying 2 nights or longer will only have their bed linen changed every third day.
 Are full cooking facilities available?
Yes. The modern shared kitchen area has an oven with cook top, two microwaves, tea and coffee making facilities, fridge/freezer, toaster, sandwich grill, filtered water dispenser and a dining area. Our accommodation guests have free use of these facilities 24 hours per day. A soft-drink vending machine is also on-site and a free buffet style continental breakfast is available each morning. A BBQ is also available for guest use - ideal for summer outdoor cooking.
Is Drifters Inn close to the award winning Hanmer Springs Thermal and restaurants?
Drifters Inn is conveniently located directly opposite the thermal pools and is within walking distance from all the best local restaurants and cafes, including the Old Post Office, Jolly Jacks, Saints Pizzeria, Laurels, Malabar and Peppers to name just a few!
How can I check accommodation availability?
You will need to contact our reservation team via our contact us page or by using the request a quotation page. We will contact you within 24 hours to advise of availability.
 What is your Reservation Policy?
No reservation will be accepted or guaranteed without first receiving a valid credit card number, cardholders name and card expiry date to be supplied at the time the reservation is made.
How can I amend my booking?
Should you wish to amend your existing booking, please contact us as soon as possible. Simply go to the Contact Us page which provides many options for contacting us.
What is your Cancellation Policy?
If we receive your written notice to cancel 48 hours prior to check-in date, a cancellation charge of NZ$50.00 per room booked may be charged. If written notice to cancel is received within 48 hours of check-in or there is no receipt of written notice to cancel and there is a 'No Show' no refund will be given. Credit cards given as security will be debited in accordance with this policy.
Why do I have to include my credit card details?
To allow us to proceed with your booking request, we require you to submit your credit card details to secure your booking. Your credit card information is strictly confidential.
Is it safe to use my credit card?
Yes. We treat the security of our guest’s information very seriously. To ensure your security, all credit card transactions are secured by SSL, which encrypts the credit card number so as to make it unavailable to any other party.
Which credit card types do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
What currency will my Credit Card be charged?
New Zealand banking laws require that all credit card transactions for international credit cards be charged in New Zealand currency.
