Scheduled bus services to take you through the Hurunui are available from the Christchurch Visitor Centre located in Cathedral Square, Christchurch. Shuttle and private bus operators travelling between Picton, Christchurch and Nelson are sometimes available for pre-arranged pick-ups or drop-offs at designated areas, however it pays to ensure this is available before confirming your transportation. Companies such as Hanmer Connection have scheduled daily shuttle services between Christchurch, Hanmer Springs and Kaikoura with drop-offs or pick-ups at Woodend, Amberley, Waipara, Waikari, Hurunui Hotel, Culverden, Waiau River Bridge and Hanmer Information Centre.
